Aguas Dulces, Aguas Saladas

The Estuary is where the sweet waters of the island of
Puerto Rico meet the salt waters of the sea.

Aguas Dulces, Aguas Saladas (2012)

Aguas Dulces, Aguas Saladas was a site-specific participatory theatre work commissioned by the Estuary of the Bay of San Juan and Aula Verde, the National Performance Network and the Arts Council of Puerto Rico.

It was created by Fiona Templeton in collaboration with a workshop team from San Juan, from interviews with the people of the communities of the Estuary, local residents, conservationists, fishing workers and botanical researchers.

Participants were guided through the area of Estuary, with starting points throughout the Parque Munoz Rivera and surrounding area of San Juan, and ending on the beach facing the sea at sunset.
