The Blue (2017)

Inspired by the French folktale Bluebeard, written and directed by Fiona Templeton. A man and a woman speak in their own voices, as well as in the imagined thoughts of the other, even ventriloquizing each other until the almost-bare stage seems populated with voices. A tale without caution, caught in several acts. Gender and power shift and subvert. Language flows, cadences, crystallizes, shatters. 

The Blue premiered at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York City from May 18-21, 2017. An excerpt published in the weekly PEN Poetry Series can be read here.
